## Understanding what the text means

CrowdStrike's new capability is intended to supplement those rules by assessing meaning and context. The aim is to recognise more kinds of sensitive content, including information written in ordinary prose.

Classification means assessing what kind of information a text contains. That assessment supports the security rules a business sets. Classifying something as sensitive does not, by itself, mean a transfer will be blocked.

## The analysis runs on the computer

CrowdStrike describes support for AI PCs based on Intel Core Ultra processors. The language model uses the computer's NPU, a processor designed for AI tasks. Classification can therefore run without sending the content to a language model in the cloud. The company describes equivalent Mac support as work in progress.

The potential benefit is straightforward: better help identifying confidential information before it is handled in an unwanted way.

Its usefulness still depends on everyday conditions. For a Norwegian business, that includes checking whether the feature supports employees' PCs and correctly classifies Norwegian documents. Those practical details determine how useful it will be as employees bring AI into their daily work.
